Welcome to Garras School

Welcome to Garras School

A very warm welcome to Garras Community Primary School, part of the Crofty Education Trust. We are situated on the Lizard Peninsula, South of Helston.

My name is Mr James Sturges, and I am proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school. At Garras, we believe that every child deserves a happy, safe, and inspiring environment in which to learn and grow. Our dedicated team works hard to create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel valued, confident, and motivated to achieve their very best.

As a small community school, we are able to know every child as an individual, and we celebrate the unique talents and qualities that each one brings. We place a strong emphasis on championing the whole child – academically, socially, and emotionally – and we strive to instil values of respect, confidence, kindness, perseverance, and curiosity

We are very proud of our strong links with the local community, and we believe that education is most successful when built on a partnership between home and school. We warmly welcome parents and carers to be involved in all aspects of school life, and we are always happy to listen, support, and work together.

I hope this website gives you a glimpse into the life of our school and all that we have to offer. If you are a prospective parent and would like to find out more, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we would be delighted to welcome you and show you around our school.

Best wishes,

James Sturges
