We have designed a history and geography-rich curriculum that connects learning by building an understanding of ideas, concepts, chronology and themes through the framework of ‘here, there, then, now, and next’. These thinking threads create opportunities for pupils to be curious about the past, learn from it, and develop the skills they need to be courageous in navigating an ever-changing and exciting future.

As computer technicians, pupils are equipped with the skills to confidently and courageously navigate technology here and now, building on innovations from there and then, and preparing to thrive in a digitally connected world next. Pupils are encouraged to be curious about new technologies and digital tools, while maintaining a caring and responsible approach to their use.

Our curriculum is structured and supported by a published scheme: Digital Learning Cornwall (DLC). DLC develops a secure understanding of online safety alongside fostering children’s ability to be confident creators of digital content and media. It develops their knowledge and skills across three key areas:

  • Computer science
  • Information technology
  • Digital literacy

Given the rapidly evolving nature of technology, it is vital that our pupils develop the flexibility and confidence to adapt. Through revisiting and deepening their understanding, pupils become more courageous and capable in harnessing the many opportunities modern technology presents, while remaining caring and responsible digital citizens who keep themselves and others safe online.
